Han Thazin Tun

Han Thazin was born in Yangon, Myanmar. A third world country where doctors change professions in hopes of earning more money to pay for their child's education. She was raised by a widowed mother who put down her stethoscope to start her own business.

After graduating high school from International Language & Business Center (ILBC) at age 15, she left her homeland to pursue tertiary education in the United States. Arriving in Seattle, she attended Seattle Central College for a year, moving from host family to host family until her mother joined her for six months. She then applied to transfer to Indiana University - Bloomington where she pursued both her undergraduate and graduate studies.

She received her Bachelors of Science in Business with a triple major in Finance, Technology Management, and Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation. With the support and advice from her college mentor, she then went onto to pursue her Masters of Science in Information Systems with a dual concentration in Cyber Risk Management and Business Intelligence. She volunteered at homeless shelters, fair trade stores, community festivals, and so on during her college years.

Her first job was a Cyber Forensic Analyst at a boutique consulting firm in Chicago. A year after, she moved away to Madison, Wisconsin where she is currently working for her alma mater remotely.

She is passionate about speaking on topics in Cyber, advocating for Women in STEM, helping people study abroad, doing agility with her beagle, Oliver, making pottery, and solo travelling. She is also an avid fan of bodybuilding workouts and CrossFit.
